Plasma is the fourth state of matter, after solid, liquid, and gas. Natural examples of plasma are the sun and lightning. Cold plasma can be produced on Earth by partially ionizing the air. The advantage is that it is “cold” and works at room temperature.

The CBC Plasma Egg generates cold, atmospheric plasma. Ozone is produced during the disinfection process. This is largely responsible for the disinfecting effect and can be detected by its specific odor.

Cold plasma acts on proteins and the RNA/DNA of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, destroying them.
